Braves Lose NLCS

The Atlanta Braves were working their way to the World Series but failed in the NLCS. All they needed was to win one more game after they were up 3-1 in the series. Props to the Dodgers on winning 3 games in a row to go to the World Series and then, later on, go onto beating Tampa and take the World Series. The Braves were on a roll, pitchers were doing their jobs, hitters were doing their jobs, but a baserunning mistake cost them the series and their chance to win the first Braves World Series since 1996.

The Braves went 35-25 this season, leading the NL East. They had a pretty good season and were projected to go far, but as Brian Snitker said, “ We shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times that really hurt.” The Braves are a really young team and have so much potential. The play that cost them the series. The game was at 3-2 runners on second and third, and Markakis hit a sharp ground ball to third baseman Justin Turner, And Swanson ran home. Simple baseball knowledge is that if the ball is hit on your side of the field while you were on the bases, you stay and don’t go to the next base, so Swanson got into a run down and got out, then they caught Austin Riley in the middle of second and third and also got him out.

This play changed the entire game; instead of being second and third, it was just first and two outs. As we know, they lost; now, let’s talk about the Dodgers and their performance. The Dodgers started rough down 1-3, but their performance was fantastic; not only did they rob a couple of home runs to keep them in the game, but their pitches were also on fire, specifically Urias, a Mexican pitcher who pretty much has one eye. Their offense was also great. In the 2020 season, the Dodgers had the best record. What’s crazy is that the Dodgers have been in the playoffs for the past seven years, and they finally achieved their goal.

In the end, the Dodgers won and won the world series. The Braves will be back next year, and I think they will win because they have a very young team and are very talented. We also have to see what new players come in and what players leave.
