Kanye West is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and entrepreneur, born on June 8, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he started making music at an early age. He attended Chicago State University for one year before dropping out to pursue a music career. West first gained recognition in the late 1990s as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, working with artists such as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. He released his debut album, “The College Dropout,” in 2004, which received critical acclaim and commercial success. Since then, he has released several other successful albums, including “Late Registration,” “Graduation,” and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” Aside from his music career, West is known for his outspoken and controversial public persona, often making headlines for his outspoken opinions on a variety of topics, including his divorce from Kim Kardashian and his anti-semitic comments which gave him the nickname “Yitler”. After he made these comments he also dated a Jewish supermodel and made “White Lives Matter” shirts that he sold. Kanye then took back his remarks after watching 21 Jump Street starring Jonah Hill who is Jewish. He has also dabbled in fashion design, with his Yeezy fashion line gaining popularity in recent years. Despite his controversies, West has been widely recognized for his contributions to music and culture, having won numerous awards, including 22 Grammy Awards. He has also been named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world on multiple occasions. To gather different perspectives on these topics, six interviews were conducted

The first interviewee, David Kan (12), stated that he was disappointed in Kanye’s behavior and that he wasn’t surprised that Kanye was racist when he had said some crazy remarks before and believed that he needs to be held accountable for his actions. He added that it’s important for public figures to use their platforms responsibly and not spread hate.

The second interviewee, Kabir Maindarker (12), said that he was not surprised by Kanye’s remarks, as he has a history of making controversial comments. However, he added that he still enjoys his music and separates his personal life from his art.

The third interviewee, Jaycee Hoffman (12), said that she doesn’t believe that Kanye is inherently anti-Semitic but thinks that he needs to be educated on why his comments were offensive. She also said that she separates the music from the artist.

The fourth interviewee, Leander Stephen (12), expressed that he is a huge supporter of Kanye and has been listening to his music for a long time. He also thinks the media is blowing things out of proportion and that Kanye’s remarks were taken out of context. He also added that he doesn’t think the divorce will have a significant impact on either of their careers.

The fifth interviewee, Ewuraba Buckle (12), stated that she thinks Kanye’s behavior is unacceptable and that he needs to take responsibility for his actions. She also added that she doesn’t have an opinion on the divorce as it’s a private matter.

The sixth interviewee, Rohan Kumar (11), said that he thinks Kanye’s behavior is problematic and that he needs to take a break from the public eye to reflect on his actions. He also added that he thinks the divorce will harm both of their brands.

In conclusion, Kanye West’s recent actions have sparked a variety of reactions from people, ranging from disappointment to indifference to his music and the effect this will have on his legacy. While opinions differ on whether he should be held accountable for his remarks, it’s clear that his behavior has consequences, both personal and professional.
