Grad Bash ’23

The 2023 Wheeler senior trip to Universal Studios, more commonly known as Grad Bash, was a massive success! Seniors departed early on the morning of April 28 and made the 7-hour journey to Orlando. Grad Bash is meant to celebrate seniors’ accomplishments and a reward for their hard work. The students take a day trip to Universal Studios to ride rollercoasters, eat junk food, and spend time with friends.

Some seniors expressed their enjoyment of the trip. “It was great to spend time with my friends away from school,” says senior Adrian Aswani. “The rides were probably my favorite part. I liked Rip Ride Rocket the best.” However, other seniors were not pleased with the exhaustion they faced during and after the trip.

Alexis Allen (12) described the drive as “pretty miserable and uncomfy.” She recommends Grad Bash to people who can “get a lot of sleep the night before” and “go with a good group of people.” However, she expressed her enjoyment of the Velocicoaster, a popular ride at the theme park.

Overall, the turnout for Grad Bash was unprecedented, and most seniors had a blast, including Katie Castellow (12): “There were so many people there; it was very chaotic. I mostly just stuck with my friends and rode rides with them. The food was also very good.” Hopefully, rising seniors will anticipate their Grad Bash with eagerness.
