We’re Back & We’re Better
With school back in session, everyone is desperately trying to be and look their best. Here are some tips on how to have a great start to the school year:
- Be organized! Being organized can go a long way when preparing for school. Getting separate binders for each class or using dividers to create sections for each class help you keep all your work organized, so you never lose something.
- Remember your due dates. A zero in the grade book can drop your grades. The best way to keep track of all your assignments is using a planner. A small planner can help you write down all your due dates and make sure you are not turning in anything late.
- Procrastination is your worst enemy. It is super important not to procrastinate. Procrastination can keep you up till all hours of the night stressing and worrying. To avoid procrastination, it is best to keep on top with all your assignments. If you’re having any problems, talk to your teachers and see how you can get back on track.
- Study, study, study! Going into a test prepared and stress-free is one of the best feelings. Make sure to spend 1-2 hours studying for all tests and quizzes the night before. Refreshing yourself on all the material you’ve learned will prepare you for the test. Also, it is excellent to utilize all the extra ways to get help that Wheeler offers such as Learning Links.
- Dress good, Feel good. Dressing nicely and keeping up your appearance can make you feel 1000% better. Dressing well makes you feel alert and ready for the day. Some might say that dressing well can improve your quality of work during the school day. Dressing nicely also makes a good impression on your teachers, showing them you can be professional.
- Stay away from drama. Drama is the most toxic thing in a school environment. It is best to stay away and try to be friends with everyone, even though it may be hard. Drama brings negativity and ruins everyone’s time.
- Keep an open mind. It is essential to keep an open mind and try new things. Taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone can expose you to new ideas. Sometimes things don’t go your way, but when you make the best of the situation, things can end up being better than expected.
- Make sure to have fun. Most importantly make sure to have fun! It’s important to take time off and hang out with your friends. Going to football games and showing school spirit is a great way to spend your Friday nights. Although school is essential, you have to make sure you save enough time to have fun!
