Show Review: Squid Games
Squid Games is a Netflix original series about 456 people who received invitations to participate in a survival game where they have to battle to win the final prize. This is a tv show that originally was called round six, the writer took nearly 6 months to write 2 episodes. When he first started he thought the story was unfamiliar and violent and he was worried people would find it too abstract to be commercialized and find a wider audience. The creator also struggled with funding and finding cast members until Netflix picked it up. The creator came up with these ideas from real TikTok trends and childhood games he played growing up. The show became so popular that it was trending on Netflix on different types of social media platforms. It became Netflix’s most popular show and is viewed by billions of people and millions more on TikTok. It’s also so popular because it’s easy access to audiences. The series was filmed in Korean, but Netflix has dubbed the show in 34 languages, and even provided subtitles in 34 languages providing several options to watch the show that’s originally in Korean.
