Zach Byran is a country artist with two studio albums; he has 20.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He is known for his song Something in the Orange, released in April 2022. His fame increased from 2022 to 2023. He started making music in 2011 while he was in the Navy. His first produced song was “Sunday Flannel,” released in October 2016. Most of his songs talk about how he felt while deployed, so they get a little deep.
Bryan recently released a new, self-titled, album on August 25, 2023. The album has 16 songs, including a duet with famous country artist Kacey Musgraves. Most of the songs on the album talk about his personal life, and some are deep. In an Instagram post he posted before the album came out, he said some songs are “heavy.” Even though some of the songs are sad and heavy, they have much meaning behind them. For example, the song “East Side of Sorrow” talks about not knowing if you should give up and questioning your faith. The Lyrics say, “Askin’ God where the hell he’d been; he said the suns gonna rise tomorrow, somewhere on the east side of sorrow.” The songs are dark but relatable.
Kali Sweeny (11) said her favorite song on the album was “Hey Driver,” which talks about not knowing what road to go down and not knowing what to do.
Hollis Phipps (10) said he relates to a song called “Heading South,” which is not on this album but still is a song with a lot of meaning behind it.
Hayden Hamilton (10) said that the album was very personal, but not in a wrong way.
Colleen Murry (10) stated that this album was not upbeat, and she likes his older songs because they are more optimistic. Bryan did announce he was going on tour with this album, so you could say it was a success!
