Ben is in the spotlight! Ben Phan (10) joined The Catalyst in his freshmen year. What makes Ben unique compared to the other staff members? What makes Ben interesting? And what makes Ben, Ben? This highlight is going to solve everyone’s questions once and for all.
Ms. Comstock (Journalism/AVID/Honors American Lit teacher) stated that Ben is an amazing writer: “Ben has been a great staff writer for The Catalyst. I appreciate his willingness to learn new tasks, such as managing editor for fluff pieces, and he is a student I can count on to get his work done.” She also stated that Ben is a curious person: “He has an eagerness to learn, ask questions, and explore information highlight in our online new site.” Ms. Comstock commented that “Ben is in the spotlight to feature him as a returning staff writer for Journalism/newspaper. As a veteran, he is someone other students can look up to for guidance, and I can depend on him to complete his assigned stories.”
Emerson Dalba (10) a second-year staff writer. She agreed to be interviewed: “Ben is hardworking, and he’s a very good writer. He is a good journalist, and he is honest with his editing. He’s a good student.” Emerson also commented ben stating that “Ben is very smartie because he always thinks through all his action. He doesn’t do anything irrational, and everything he does is smart.” Emerson shares that Ben makes the class even better: “Ben is funny, smart, and fun to hang out with. I would’ve hated this class if Ben wasn’t here.”
Suri Coleman (11) a third-year staff writer, and she describes Ben as hardworking and helpful: “He is very responsible in what he does, and he always knows how to pick the right people. When it comes to working with them, he really puts everything of what he does and a great friend to have around.” She stated that Ben is “Very precise:” “He plans out his future very accordingly. He likes to help others to do the same, and he definitely jumps every opportunity that he gets to improve himself and to improve his applications and really to become the best version of himself.” She also stated that Ben is the main person that makes the class better: “Ben is definitely a very large portion of what makes this class so much fun, He is funny and so much fun to hang out with. He is very helpful when it comes to different assignments, especially in the area of writing, which this is a writing class, so that’s very helpful and jumps to every opportunity.” She agreed that Ben deserved to be in the staff spotlight: “Yes, one of the best personalities in this room, good guy and a good person and puts everything what he does.”
