Lana del Rey, born in 1985, has topped charts, sold out venues and released 9 studio albums. She’s been in the industry since 2005 and has only grown from there. Whether it was “young and beautiful” In the Great Gatsby, or “Video Games” in Gossip Girl, her music has been heard all over the world for such a while. Lana released her latest single, “Henry, Come On” on April 11th, foreshadowing the release of her next album.
The song was described by Sara (12) as, “a mix of country and Lana’s old style of music. She talks about her reaching her limits with herself or a relationship with Henry. I think she talks about something unattainable, like she kind of comes to an acceptance but it’s still a little sad.” Campbell (10) says “it gives sad vibes but it’s very Lana.” Madison (11), says “Its very whimsical and beautiful.”
Lana has spoken about diving into the country genre and exploring all it has to offer. Sara offers her opinion, saying that she “doesn’t like it as much as her other stuff.” Campbell says “its like Taylor Swift switching genres, I like it.” Madison agrees, “she’s been teasing it for so long, I think when she fully goes country its gonna be great for her.”
Overall, the song is getting her fans excited about what’s next for her music. The song teases a new era for the singer and with her headlining festivals like Stagecoach and Coachella, she will only continue to rise is stardom. For her fans, it’s been a long time coming and they will finally see what they’ve all seen this whole time.
