Senior year is coming to an end for the class of 2025. We all had the best time throughout this whole year. Everyone is thrilled to be moving on to the real world and adulthood, but they are also sad that all the fun is ending. So, as the last story of the school year, it will be about a recap of all senior activities, and for the underclassmen to see what they’re going to be looking forward to when it’s their time.
August: The Beginning of the End
We start in August at the very beginning of their year. Senior walk is first up on the list, it happened on the first last day of school. All the seniors park at the Grace Church wearing all black. And they walked to school. The first last football game happened on August 18, and the theme was blackout. We didn’t end up winning, but everyone still had fun. Airess Brown 12th grader said “ Senior walk was my favorite memory from senior year because it was the beginning of the end, and I had so much hope and excitement for the last year.”
October: Competition and Celebration
In October, the senior Olympics started when the underclassmen were busy talking eocs, the seniors were in the Arena competing. There were 5 teams, and whoever was your homeroom teacher was your team color. At the end of the day, the blue team was the champion. Also, in October was Hoco. The theme was masquerade ball.
February: Legacy and Last Seasons
Next semester begins, and more activities start. In February, we had the annual LMK assembly. The spring sports begin with Soccer, track and field, baseball, and lacrosse. And for most seniors, this will be their last time playing these sports competitively. Boys’ soccer finally beat Walton with season and baseball, and lacrosse were well too. Milly-Anne Braga 12th grader, said, “Soccer season was the best part of senior year. I made lots of friends, and I visited a lot of different schools. I love soccer, so seeing everything work was a plus. It was also a good college application. I will miss it a lot.”
March: Milestones and Memories
March madness came with every senior applying to colleges and scholarships. Now they’re waiting to hear back. There was also a Cap a week of dressing up for the seniors, only they could participate. And gowns came in, and everyone during lunch went a pick theirs up. Makalah Johnson 12th grader said “Picking up the cap and gowns is when it clicked for me. I woke up and thought wow high school era is over. But I was also happy that I can move one.”
April: Adventures and Elegance
April started great with spring break. Half of the seniors went to the grad bash at the University, and unplanned, had some bus troubles. But the other half went to the beach or out of state with their friends. After spring break, everyone was getting the prom dresses and deciding on hair, makeup, and nails. The theme this year was Midnight Garden, and it was hosted at the Cobb Gallery. Nicolle Correia, 12th grader “Prom was a wonderful night, to be honest, I was thinking about not going, but my friends convinced me to go. And now in am so grateful that I went.”
May: Farewells and New Beginnings
May the last month of school, everyone is ready to leave this place. For the seniors, the 14-day countdown started. Yearbooks came out. Everyone was planning their grad parties. The senior picnic is on the last day of school. Grad practices, which is when everyone walks in the area, practicing for the big day. And just like that, it was over. 4 years of hard work done.
