The girls basketball team had a complicated and rough season last year, with covid and everything else going on the team worked hard to win games and make progress in trying to get to the state playoffs. Their goal this season is to make the state playoffs, because they haven’t made it in a while. The boys basketball team had a very rewarding season, they won state for the second year in a row, their goal is to win it again for the third time this season, they are working hard in the preseason to get there. The girls team has struggled the past couple of years, so their other goal is to win some more games this season. Coach Coutrney has won a lot before he came to Wheeler, so losing bothers him and he wants to help the girls succeed. Coach Thompson believes in his players and hopes to bring home another state title. Both teams hope to accomplish these goals this season. They are working hard in the summer and working hard this preseason to have a successful year. Hopefully both teams can come through and accomplish these things.
