Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. is an American football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom spent his first 20 seasons with the New England Patriots when he was a major contributor to their dynasty from 2001 to 2019. Tom Brady moved from the Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 because he was tired of taking team-friendly deals without any input into how all of the money saved was spent. The main reason Brady left the Patriots is that the two sides couldn’t agree on a multi-year contract that would allow Brady to retire with the organization. He also still wanted a long-term contractual commitment and more input on personal decisions that he was not getting on the Patriots for so many years.
Thomas Brady Jr. was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California, he played both football and baseball at Junipero Serra High School. He graduated in 1995 and passed up a chance to play professional baseball to go to the University of Michigan and play football. He did not spend much time on the field for the first year, but he then served as the starting quarterback his junior year. That season, Brady threw 350 passes for 2,636 yards. In his final season, he helped lead the Patriots to an Orange Bowl victory.
Brady began his football career very early as the backup quarterback on the Padres junior varsity team. Brady was not very good and didn’t score a touchdown all year. When the starting quarterback got injured, Brady was now a starting player, and he progressively got better. Tom Brady continued to become a better player and played college football at Michigan. After his college football career, he was selected 199th overall by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. This was later given him a reputation of being the NFL’s biggest draft steal. He became the starting quarterback his second season and led the Patriots to win their first Super Bowl title. Brady was the team’s primary starter for 18 seasons and led the team to 17 division titles, 13 AFC Championship Games, nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl titles. Tom Brady joined the Buccaneers in 2020 and led them to win Super Bowl LV. This extended his individual records to 10 Super Bowl appearances and seven Super Bowl wins.
Along with being a football champion, Brady was chosen as one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” in 2002 and hosted the popular comedy show Saturday Night Live in 2005. He and longtime girlfriend Bridget Moynahan split up in late 2006. The next year, she gave birth to their son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan, in August. Brady married Bündchen in February of 2009. The couple welcomed a son named Benjamin in December of that same year and a daughter, Vivian, born in 2012.
I interviewed Jada Dixon (11th). She voiced that Tom Brady moved for a valid reason and should not be getting the amount of bad publicity that he is getting for making a new career move. She said it was very disrespectful when Patriot fans were booing Brady when he walked onto the field to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Amblessed (12th)

Mrs. Blair, a United States history teacher, was also interviewed about Tom Brady. She loves to watch football and thinks it was a good move for Tom to move to the Buccaneers. Mrs. Blair said he was seen as egotistical when he played for the patriots and now that Tom is with Tampa Bay, fans and viewers can see who he is and his happy and fun personality. She also thought it was interesting that Rob Gronkowski played nine seasons on the Patriots and then retired, but when Brady moved teams, he came back to play football again and also moved the Tampa Bay buccaneers after Brady did.
Amblessed (12th) also expressed his opinion on Tom Brady moving from the Patriots to the Buccaneers. Amblessed is a senior and is on the football and soccer teams here at Wheeler. He believes it was a good career move for Tom Brady because it shows that he is dedicated and is willing to try new things and will lead the Buccaneers to victory. Amblessed was very surprised when he heard about him moving teams on ESPN, but he thinks this could be a good thing to do.

Abby Sluben (11th)

Abby Sluben (11th) is a huge Tom Brady fan. I asked her what she thought about his move and how she heard about it. She does not like that Tom moved because her family are Patriot fans. She heard about him moving through her dad, and they were not happy about his decision but understood why he moved. They saw it on ESPN and have seen a lot about it on social media.
