At Wheeler, April is a hectic month for the seniors; there are so many activities and college things to prepare for. But one of the best events is signing day. Signing day is a tradition when student-athletes sign on to a college of their choice. The event went well with six student athletes from different sports who signed (Soccer, Lacrosse, Wrestling, and Rowing).
It’s an opportunity for their loved ones and team members to watch as they take a step into their new chapter of life. The students who signed were Naomi Bowman, who signed to the college of Lebanon Valley for soccer, Sienna Christensen signed to Berry College, and she gave us a view into her thought process: “I chose Berry College for its team culture and the coaches, I will miss Wheeler, but I felt amazing when I signed.”
Rose Greenspan signed with Syracuse University for rowing.
Azariah Martin made history when sign to Andrew College for wrestling. She is the first female wrestler to sign to a college here at Wheeler. She explained how she felt, “I feel great, I made history today, and I feel blessed that good led me down this path.”
Ben Miller signed to Reinhardt University for soccer.
Last student athlete is Xavier Williams, who signed to Point Park University. He said, “I feel good and accomplished. I chose that university because I fell in love with the location.”
As we watch these seniors go to college and accomplish great things in their future, they will never forget where it all started, and who help them find their dream to play these sports.
