Some of the usual suspects are back, but fierce leopard coats, luxe laces, and sultry blush tones are just some of the fall trends you can start getting amped up about right now. Fashion has changed a great deal over the past three centuries. As history changes, it seems that fashion in some aspects (Fashion Trends 2021) changes with it to adapt to the era. Even today, fashion continues to change as the years go on. Looking at fashion even 20 years ago, you can see a difference from what we see in our everyday lives.

15th-century women’s style

The first era of fashion history includes 500 BC- 1450 AD. Near the beginning, era fashion was relatively simple, since it was more about practical function than style. This era was referred to as the Ancient Period Time. Garments were always loose-fitting, never tight. The second group of fashion history includes 1350 – 1700. The first era of this period time was the Renaissance. This included about 150 years, in which the style was influenced by Medieval and Gothic Designs, and Italian Renaissance in art. Women’s fashions became a more natural appearance. Dresses lost their long trains and flowing skirts became popular. The long, rigid corset that extended to a V shape, made its debut in the early part of this period. When women began to show their hair again, they decorated it with gorgeous veils and dazzling jewels. After the 15th century, Renaissance Fashion began to follow German styles. Women’s gowns became voluminous; skirts were heavily pleated and supported by hoops made of wire or wicker. Men’s clothing adopted a similar style, balloon sleeves, padded doublets, large collars, and puffed trunk hose.

“Fall trends are terrible! I hate fall trends to be honest because people are always trying to match how the leaves look. That’s not cute. Take that off and put some winter clothes on and you will be straight. Some people look good in fall clothes but that is a 2/10 most of the time. I just hate fall trends, I am not going to lie all that is ugly. One thing I can say is the people who come to school looking comfortable with sweaters and uggs somewhat follow the fall trends and they look decent but overall I don’t follow them.” -Anthony Alverez (10)

“Fall trends don’t really bother me, I just wear what I have and I can see. I don’t really try to dress out or dress up. I just wear what makes me feel comfortable and whatever matches. I think they are cool but I don’t like Christian girl autumn because it is basic. When girls wear scarves and take pictures of their Starbucks because I think they are trying too hard.” -Nicholas M (9)

“I like to wear bubble coats, sweat pants, sweatsuits, Nike tech fleeces, anything comfortable, and anything that keeps me warm in the fall. One fall trend I hate to see that people wear is a full-on trench coat. Yeah … I don’t really like trench coats because they flop. I also add to the sportswear because I am a basketball player, so adding on to the Nike tech fleeces, wearing sweatsuits is a must during fall and I don’t have to try hard during the winter because I wear that daily.” -Donnary Fontano (12)

“So I am really a girly girl so when fall comes around, I love to dress up and follow the trends. I love to wear sweaters and uggs. Like the sweater and ugg trend with tights. The scarf and sweater trend with hot coffee is a must during this time. I don’t really hate any fall trends because this is my favorite season so I will never miss out.” -Sydney Love (9)

Overall, fall is a really good season to express your inner fall and try new trends. You can put your own spin and style on the fashion trends during this era and do this while having fun with it! You can go with what you have and keep your colors to match the setting and the time.
