Damaj’ia Wilburn

Damaj’ia Wilburn, who’s a senior, has been doing Journalism/Newspaper for three years now. She was put into journalism her sophomore year, but she loves to write and she finds writing essays to be pretty easy. She likes to interview people and is the fluff piece editor. She edits fluff pieces and uploads them. When asking other people what they like about Damaj’ia, they all have nothing but positive words. Spencer Schmookler (12) tells me that he “loves her sense of style and how she uses her clothes to express herself.” I also asked Mrs. Comstock and she says that “Damaj’ia is is quiet but insightful. Her presence is encouraging to her peers in the staff room as she is helpful to anyone who asks. I have enjoyed watching her growth in writing stories.” Along with Saniya Payton (10) who says, “I know Damaj’ia through some friends and through track. I like that it’s easy to talk to her.” Overall, Damaj’ia is a really cool person to hang out with and an easy person to get along with. While she makes journalism even more enjoyable.
