The new season is starting, and with it, changes from the draft. Some teams got much needed changes, like the Atlanta Falcons. They recruited Bijan Robinson, who can perhaps save the team from blowing a 28-3 lead again. He is the new starter running back for the Atlanta Falcons and is working in tandem with the new quarterback, who had to step up since Matt Ryan got traded. The starting quarterback is Desmond Riddler, awarded the AAC Offensive Player of the Year award twice. Together, these two are the core of the Atlanta Falcons because the defense has one of the highest touchdowns allowed per drive against them in the league. Perhaps, the Atlanta Falcons make the playoffs, but the wide receivers are not the best in the league stats wise, so the run game will be in full swing.
Daouda Maiga (12) shares that his favorite team is the New York Giants. Maiga feels like the defensive tackle and safety were needed, but that it would not change the defense from “zero to hero” overnight. He predicts the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl, and most likely facing the Commanders, as he feels like they are the most “complete team in the league at the moment. Their team has always been pretty good, but with the draft picks they got this year.” In regard to the Falcons, he says he has not cared about them since they “blew a 28-3 lead in 2017.” He also adds that he felt like this season could be interesting to watch with how some of the teams got the players they needed. Jack Pallas (12) shares his favorite team is the Ravens, even though he “does not watch the NFL that often.” Pallas thinks that the Ravens need a running back and a wide receiver since “their contracts are almost up. The coach even mentioned getting more wide receivers, so hopefully they are good enough to help Lamar out.” Picture of interviewed person:
People are mostly satisfied with their teams’ pickups with the draft this season if their team has drafted players already. Greg Persaud (12) shares his favorite team is the New England Patriots. He comments about Tom Brady no longer being on the team: “Man, Brady has not been carrying us since he obliterated the Falcons in 2017. Kidus Kenfu (12) shares his favorite team is the Atlanta Falcons. He is happy with Bijan Robinson being recruited saying, “I’m glad we have someone to carry our offense since our defense is alright at best.” He wishes the Falcons had more “defensive changes though.” He provides that he “is not happy with the preseason games that we played, it’s like 2017 all over again.” Picture of interviewed person:
People are overall happy with the current state of the league and are pleased to have some preseason games to hold them over until the real season starts. The summer league started recently, and the changes are evident for some teams. Others have not seen much success stat-wise even with the changes though. The draft is almost over, only a few teams have to draft. Of the teams that have not drafted yet, only a few have first round picks for the positions they need. The season is starting up soon, and the teams are set.
