The Falcons won by complete luck. The Packers selling at the last second is one of the football moments of all time.
Even fantasy apps had the Falcons losing at, on average, 62% to lose. The single point upset happened because of the Packers’ Jordan Luck selling the last second. I did not even know winning by a single point was possible since most points are scored in packs of 3s, 6s, and 7s, with the occasional 2-point conversion pushing the touchdown to 8.
The fact that the game came down to the wire versus a team such as the Packers, in my opinion, is wild. Our defense was getting shredded like string cheese, and it was no laughing matter. I do not know if the defense was taking a break for the second and third quarters because that is the only time the Packers scored.
If it had not been for our kicker, we would have lost. Twelve points off-field goals alone should be a testament to how bad the offense is at getting the ball to the end zone. We would have lost if it were not for our kicker pulling off four field goals. We bet the entire game on a kicker that barely pulled through for us.
Overall, this was a disappointing game. Getting shredded and relying on our kicker to make almost half our points is terrible. Ridder even had to buckle down and get a rushing touchdown. That does not look bad for Ridder, but having to boot himself up and rush instead of relying on Bijan Robinson is an interesting choice.
