Music Video Maddness

During the 2010’s certain songs have influenced society different. And one of the reasons as to why this happens is music videos. If you sit down and think to yourself, you’ll realize that almost every top chart song has a popular music video that goes with it. So what makes these artists video’s so watchable?

So what is needed to make these eye catching videos? Most popular music videos have a theme to them. Whether it’s a story or a specific topic, there needs to be a theme in the video. The video also needs to have color. Whether it’s multiple bright colors or dull shaded colors, it must have color in it. Another repeating element in popular music videos are celebrities or feature artists. When more artists are featured more people tend to watch it because certain artists attracted their fan bases. For example, DJ Khaled’s videos are always very mainstream because of the amount of artists he includes in them. A good example of a theme in music videos is Kendrick Lamar. In his newest video “DNA” he instils this theme of being a black man living in Trump’s United States. A man who has a “soldier’s DNA”. Many artists take these different elements and use them all in one video. While others use some of the elements and still find success.
