Sports Highlight: Swim & Dive

Cameron Ward and Jennifer Callison-Bliss, coach the Wheeler Swim and Dive team. The swim team had a lot of success last year and are looking forward to being successful in the county and state meets again this year. The team has had two meets so far. First, the cobb county relays meet, which the girls placed fourth in and the boys placed sixth in. The second meet was the Junior and Senior trip meets in Jekyll Island. The Wheeler swim team traveled to Jekyll Island with the seniors and juniors to compete in a meet that Wheeler won. A lot of the swimmers won their individual races, and we won the meet overall. It was a great team bonding trip, and everyone had a lot of fun together. The team is looking forward to what this season has to offer, with many new swimmers and lots of new fun opportunities.

The dive team has gotten many new divers this year that will add depth to the dive team and cause the team to get more points at meets with divers. A couple of meets do not include dive, but dive has its own separate meets sometimes and is a huge part of the county and state meets. Many schools have won state because they also have really good divers that win the school many points. Depth in the dive team will help Wheeler to get many more points in meets.
