World Cup Predictions

As one of the most significant sports events finally approached the world, everyone seemed excited about the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The event, which brings people together from all across the globe, selects 32 teams from different countries and are divided into eight groups of four, making them battle amongst each other to reach the round of 16. Only two teams from each group advance, based on matches they have won and how many goals were scored. After making it to that stage, the ongoing 16 battle again. In that round, if you lose, you’re out. After that, only eight teams make it to the quarter-finals, following the same “you lose, you’re out.” After that, we have the semifinals and the so-awaited final of the World Cup, which will take place on December 18th at 10 AM.

With such a competitive and selective tournament, people have their predictions, and according to players’ stats, the power of a team, and more, some people are sure who they will see at the final. Some Wheeler Students were asked about their predictions, and they answered as follows:

According to most, Brazil and France are the favorites to go to the final, with Brazil being the most likely to take the trophy home. After them, Argentina and Spain are favorites to go to the last.
